Learn more about our speakers:

Amy is a Payroll Engineer at Gusto who fell in love with coding for the fun of solving toy problems, and now loves it for the gratification of solving real problems. In a previous life, she was a pharmaceutical chemist, an English teacher, and a candlemaker. She enjoys knitting, acting snobby about craft beer, and watching her preschooler “play soccer.”

Lovisa is a teacher and amateur linguist turned software developer and is currently a developer at Handshake, a startup working to find jobs and internships for college students. She works across the entire stack at Handshake but has lately focused more on backend and data problems. Catch her attention by asking her about Swedish summer traditions, movies, or her favorite bash productivity hacks.

Anna Scheuler is a UI Engineer at the digital marketing agency DEG, Linked by Isobar. She has been building web applications for all three years of her professional career and particularly enjoys frontend development. After work hours, Anna volunteers with coding camps for youths and reads as many books as she can get her hands on.

Lindsey Whitley is a Data Platform Engineer at Gusto. She has been moving data with code for two years and really loves writing Ruby. In her free time, Lindsey volunteers at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, visits her friends across the country, and drinks whiskey at local distilleries.

Lisa Ma’s main career goals right now are to be a solid engineer who can back up the overall business with great engineering solutions and to give back to the tech community. She has worked at companies as small as 3 people to now 30 people (all very early-stage startups) in order to experience a company’s growth as a whole and understand how to make the greatest contribution as an engineer. Additionally, she volunteers as a mentor to the Galvanize community (currently teaching SQL 101), is part of the local hackerspace in Boulder (Solid State Depot), and gives talks here and there to share the wealth of knowledge and meet awesome people.
